What will you do? Your role.
As an Operational Buyer, you are responsible for the timely and correct execution of the procurement process. You monitor operational continuity, delivery reliability, and agreements with suppliers. You work closely with your colleagues in Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales, and Quality. Your responsibilities include:
- Operational procurement and contract management: placing, following up on, and monitoring purchase contracts with (inter)national suppliers under the guidance of strategic procurement.
- Issuing price requests in consultation with strategic procurement within the specified frameworks.
- Checking contract confirmations and prices according to contractual agreements.
- Identifying and resolving discrepancies in deliveries, prices, or quality.
- Delivery reliability and progress monitoring: monitoring delivery performance and proactively following up on deviations.
- Coordinating with sales and supply chain regarding schedules and inventory levels.
- Ensuring the correct processing of procurement data in the ERP system.
- Supplier contact: first point of contact for suppliers regarding operational questions.
- Supporting the strategic buyer with supplier evaluations and audits.
- Internal collaboration: coordinating with sales, supply chain, and quality regarding current orders and projects.
- Timely escalation of risks or bottlenecks that impact operations.

- Problem-solving skills: you recognize operational bottlenecks in the procurement process and quickly take appropriate action to limit disruptions.
- Stress-resistant and flexible: you continue to function effectively under time pressure, ad-hoc changes, and delivery disruptions.
- Result-oriented: you focus on delivery reliability, continuity, and compliance with established agreements.
- Supplier-oriented: you maintain correct and professional contact with suppliers and contribute to a good working relationship.
What do you bring?
- Completed education at MBO+/HBO level, preferably in commerce or logistics.
- Basic knowledge of (procurement) processes and ERP systems.
- Excellent command of Dutch and English; German is an advantage. Proficiency in the Chinese language is a significant plus.
- Affinity with products such as plastics and paper packaging.
- Good computer skills and the willingness to quickly master new software.
- You communicate well verbally and in writing and switch easily between different departments and external partners.
