Blokker and Packit have been working together for years. Hanneke van Velzen, Customer Operations Manager at Packit, still remembers the familiar Handy drawstring bags. “Despite the retailer’s turbulent past, with buyers coming and going, the relationship between our companies never completely disappeared. When the chain made a restart under the leadership of Roland Palmer, we were approached again. That is a wonderful recognition for us.”
Packit fits the shelf
Mega shopper
“The bag is very large,” confirms Merle Kloosterman, Category Manager at Blokker. She provides the proof by climbing into the bag herself. “An air fryer or vacuum cleaner fits in with ease. Customers can now easily take these products with them. Thanks to the large handle, you can even carry the bag over your shoulder. This offers customers more convenience: the weight is better distributed and you have your hands free.”
Excellent cooperation
“The request for a large bag came from the stores,” Merle continues. “Our marketing department created a proposal. Packit translated this perfectly into an initial design. Also noteworthy is the fact that the bag is made of recycled material. We had a number of requirements the bag had to meet: large, sustainable, and a good price-quality ratio. Packit was able to meet all requirements, so the choice was easily made. In addition, they contribute great ideas and can switch gears quickly. The cooperation is very pleasant.”
Blokker
Blokker (re)opened 12 branches on June 18, 2025, followed by another 10 a week later, and the retailer continued to grow through the summer to the current number of 56, including 12 franchisees. Merle: “We certainly see opportunities to intensify the cooperation with Packit. The next item will be rolling off the production line soon: our own brand of bio-waste bags. We hope to be fully visible in the shopping streets again in the future, both with our stores and our bags. On the day of the launch, 70 were sold immediately!”
