"I have the best job there is."

From the ‘not-just-any-cookie with coffee’ and a good conversation to organizing events and business trips to the Far East. Suzanne handles it all. “Management assistant, event planner, executive secretary, concierge, and ‘unofficial’ confidant… My work is so diverse. I have the best job there is!”

Organizational Talent

In 2015, Suzanne was asked by Leen if she would organize the gala celebrating Packit’s then 40th anniversary. As an experienced project and event manager (Suzanne organized, among other things, the grand opening of Maasvlakte 2), Suzanne knows how to organize a party. And her organizational talents are proving invaluable elsewhere in the company as well. One thing led to another and since 2017 Suzanne has officially been working for Packit.
“A jack-of-all-trades,” Suzanne calls herself. “I help Leen with various hands-on matters. From coordinating appointments and managing building and vehicle fleet maintenance to ensuring a well-stocked refrigerator. Those kinds of practical, often everyday things, but also organizing team outings, business trips, and internal knowledge sessions, for example.”

Working Together!

Suzanne is also the first point of contact for colleagues. “If you’re stuck, just ask Suus,” she continues her story with a laugh. “I know what’s happening in the organization, where the challenges and opportunities lie. I usually have an answer. Or I offer a listening ear when needed. Packit is a flat organization. There’s a pleasant, open, and personal atmosphere here. There’s management, but no strong hierarchy. When groceries are delivered, any passing colleague helps unpack. That’s truly the charm of a family business. Doing it the Packit way means ‘working together’!”

Empowering and Connecting People

While Suzanne doesn’t have direct contact with customers in her role, she is an indispensable link: “I see my role as creating a pleasant work environment where colleagues can fully utilize their potential by taking various ‘peripheral matters’ off their hands. We are known as a highly efficient organization. Optimally utilizing and recognizing talent contributes to this, as does connecting colleagues. And of course, the pleasant work atmosphere. Working hard and enjoying ourselves go hand in hand here. Our outings are always enjoyable, and we always ensure a special, personal touch. No standard birthday card or Christmas package, but truly unique surprises, preferably self-assembled. We genuinely enjoy each other’s company, and customers and potential employees notice this too.”
